The Estée Lauder Companies has appointed Gaétane Baudry as Senior Vice President and Global General Manager for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. Her role is effective October 8, 2026, and she will be based in New York. Baudry reports directly to Lisa Sequino, Global President of Makeup Brands at The Estée Lauder Companies.

Baudry brings more than two decades of luxury beauty industry experience to the position. She most recently served as the global brand president of Shu Uemura at L’Oréal Luxe. Her new responsibilities include developing Bobbi Brown’s global business strategy, product innovation, and consumer engagement. She will also oversee efforts to strengthen the brand’s international presence and expand its digital capabilities.

Strategic Mandate and Brand Context

Baudry’s central mandate is to accelerate Bobbi Brown Cosmetics’ next era of growth. This involves sharpening the brand’s expression and enhancing its relevance across diverse markets. The goal is to create compelling experiences for today’s consumers.

Bobbi Brown is renowned for its approach to natural-looking makeup. Its products and messaging focus on enhancing individual features. The brand operates within Estée Lauder’s portfolio of prestige makeup businesses. This portfolio includes brands like M·A·C, Too Faced, Smashbox, and TOM FORD.

Baudry will be tasked with maintaining this established identity while adapting to evolving trends. Her experience at Shu Uemura is seen as particularly relevant. It involved balancing brand heritage with digital commerce expansion. The appointment reflects a broader industry shift. Prestige beauty companies are investing heavily in omnichannel distribution and digital marketing to strengthen their competitive positions.

Proven Leadership at Shu Uemura

At Shu Uemura, Baudry oversaw marketing, communications, retail, e-commerce, education, and business development. Her leadership there yielded significant results. The brand achieved a top position among makeup artist brands in Asia. It also gained prestige beauty share in highly competitive markets.

Under her guidance, Shu Uemura increased its online business. The brand strengthened its cultural relevance and advanced its retail and omnichannel experience. Baudry redefined the brand platform and category strategy during her tenure. This work built her expertise across luxury beauty, innovation, and global brand strategy.

Leadership Endorsement and Broader Portfolio

Lisa Sequino endorsed the appointment. Sequino said, “Gaétane is an inspiring and highly collaborative leader who brings experience, energy and a strong focus on execution.” She also emphasized Baudry’s global brand-building record and commercial leadership.

Sequino stated these qualities would be invaluable as Bobbi Brown builds on its equity in natural beauty. The priorities include accelerating digital evolution, moving into new channels, and deepening global consumer connections. Earlier in her career, Baudry held senior roles at Giorgio Armani Beauty, Helena Rubinstein, and Lancôme.

The Estée Lauder Companies’ vast portfolio spans skincare, makeup, fragrance, and hair care. Its products are sold in approximately 150 countries and territories. Key brand names include Estée Lauder, Clinique, La Mer, Aveda, Jo Malone London, Le Labo, Dr.Jart+, and The Ordinary.

Broader Business Context

This leadership change shows industry-wide investments. Prestige beauty players are focusing on digital marketing and consumer engagement to fortify their positions. For global makeup brands, growth now depends on coordinating product innovation with online discovery and localized marketing.

Bobbi Brown Cosmetics has already taken steps in this direction. It expanded its digital retail footprint in the US last December by launching on Amazon’s US Premium Beauty Store. Baudry’s appointment places an executive with direct experience in these competitive dynamics at the helm.

Her focus will be on strengthening Bobbi Brown’s global positioning. She will work to expand its digital and commercial capabilities. The final objective is to develop consumer experiences that support long-term brand growth while maintaining its established identity.
