Intimate Portraits of Friendship Captured in Berlin Summer Photos
Photographer Vincent Wechselberger and multidisciplinary artist Noam Yarik Gil Shuster have released a collaborative photo project, 'Catching Up on Missing Time', showcasing a day spent together in Berlin after two years of living apart.

A new photo project, 'Catching Up on Missing Time', captures the beauty of friendship and connection in a series of intimate portraits taken in Berlin.
Photographer Vincent Wechselberger and multidisciplinary artist Noam Yarik Gil Shuster spent 24 hours together in the city, documenting their time spent together after two years of living apart. The photographs were taken over seven hours, with the pair taking turns behind the camera to capture the uncontrived beauty of their day together.
The project is an extension of Wechselberger's practice of intimately documenting the relationships around him. He has also explored this theme in his photo series 'Sisters', which examines the evolving intimacy between him and his queer siblings.
The photographs in 'Catching Up on Missing Time' showcase the ease of returning to a friendship, even after time and distance apart. Wechselberger explains that the pair found themselves spending a slow day in the Berlin heat, grabbing coffee, walking around Friedrichshain, biking through the city, and eventually swimming in the Spree.
The photographs also highlight the connection between Wechselberger and Shuster, who have been friends for seven years. They met at Berghain, a nightclub in Berlin, and have since collaborated on shoots and art projects.
The project is a testament to the power of friendship and connection in our lives. As Wechselberger says, "Even with distance and time apart, we fall right back into an easy rhythm. I think we bring out each other's beauty, physically, but also the inner kind, that feeling of being seen and safe, a sense of calm that not many people get to see."
