San Francisco's ScentFest SF Exceeds Expectations with Niche Fragrance Event
The inaugural edition of ScentFest SF, held at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, attracted over 4,000 visitors and featured more than 100 niche fragrance brands.

The inaugural edition of ScentFest SF, a niche fragrance event held at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, has exceeded expectations with its strong attendance and unique format.
The event, which took place from June 26 to 29, 2026, drew in over 4,000 visitors, significantly surpassing the original projection of 2,500. This strong turnout demonstrates a growing interest in niche and artistic perfumery in the United States.
## A New Model for Niche Fragrance Events
ScentFest SF was created by Sebastian Jara, also known as The Perfume Guy, who recognized the need for a highly curated platform where niche perfume brands, professionals, and passionate consumers could connect. Unlike traditional European trade show models, ScentFest SF focused on education, discovery, storytelling, and direct relationships between brands and perfume lovers.
The event's unique format included mornings dedicated to VIP and B2B visitors, providing brands with opportunities for focused presentations, meetings, and meaningful conversations with retailers, media, distributors, and industry professionals. Afternoons were open to fragrance enthusiasts who could discover and purchase new creations directly from brands.
## A Hybrid Format for Today's Fragrance Market
The carefully structured format of ScentFest SF created value for both professionals and consumers. Brands gained visibility, valuable industry connections, and sales opportunities, while consumers enjoyed unprecedented access to founders, perfumers, and the stories behind the fragrances.
| **Format** | **Description** | | --- | --- | | Mornings | VIP and B2B visitors, focused presentations, meetings, and conversations | | Afternoons | Fragrance enthusiasts, discovery, and direct purchases from brands |
## Industry Support
The success of ScentFest SF was reinforced by broad support from across the fragrance ecosystem, including sponsors, retailers, brand partners, and industry organizations. Key sponsors included Kintessence, Kayali, LuckyScent, Granado Brazil, and Jovoy Paris/Jeroboam, demonstrating that ScentFest SF had evolved beyond a typical consumer fragrance festival into an important meeting point for the wider artistic perfumery community.
## Looking Ahead
The success of the first edition suggests that ScentFest SF has established a strong foundation for the future. Sebastian Jara has already indicated that plans for the second edition are underway, with a possible return in late June 2027. If the first edition is any indication, ScentFest SF is well positioned to become a significant annual meeting point for the global artistic fragrance community.
