L'Oréal Partners with NUS Medicine to Advance Skin Longevity Science

Skin longevity science is a rapidly evolving field that seeks to understand the complex relationships between skin ageing and overall healthspan. In a significant move towards advancing this research, L'Oréal Groupe has partnered with the NUS Academy for Healthy Longevity at NUS Medicine to investigate the relationship between skin ageing and broader biological ageing. ## A New Research Partnership The multi-year strategic research partnership combines L'Oréal's expertise in skin, scalp and hair science with NUS Medicine's research in geroscience and healthy longevity. A new joint research laboratory has been established in Singapore, located at the Healthy Longevity Clinical Trial Centre. This laboratory will integrate advanced skin, scalp and hair assessments with cardiovascular, metabolic, cognitive and musculoskeletal measurements from the same clinical research participants. ## Investigating the Relationship Between Skin Ageing and Systemic Ageing Researchers will examine whether skin ageing correlates with ageing across other organ systems. This could potentially provide a non-invasive indicator of systemic biological ageing, or whether it represents a distinct ageing pathway. The findings of this research will contribute to L'Oréal's Longevity Integrative Science research and could ultimately support the development of evidence-backed approaches to healthy skin, scalp and hair ageing. ## A Strategic Investment in Longevity Science The partnership signals L'Oréal's growing investment in longevity science as a strategic area for beauty innovation. By moving ageing research beyond visible cosmetic concerns towards understanding skin within the context of overall healthspan, L'Oréal is creating new opportunities for preventative, personalised and scientifically validated beauty solutions. This collaboration has the potential to revolutionise the way we approach skin ageing and could lead to the development of innovative solutions that promote healthy skin, scalp and hair ageing. The partnership between L'Oréal and NUS Medicine is a significant step towards advancing our understanding of skin longevity science. By combining expertise in skin science with research in geroscience and healthy longevity, this partnership has the potential to lead to groundbreaking discoveries that could transform the beauty industry.
